Abstract:Cyclophilins (CyPs), members of the ‘immunophilin’ protein family, have peptidylprolylcistrans isomerase activity and widely distribute in different organisms. They are highly conserved in protein structure and expressed in cytosol and various organelles. Plant CyPs are supperfamily members and play significant roles in stress response, metabolic regulation and plant development besides their common functions. This review summarizes the functions and recent research progress of plant CyPs and aims to help their further characterization in the future.
