NAC transcription factor plays an important role in the response of abiotic stresses. In the present study,we isolated a NAC gene designated TaNAC5 from wheat.TaNAC5 ORF is 924 bp,which encodes 307 amino acids.Comparison of amino acid sequences and phylogenetic analysis indicated that TaNAC5 contains the conserved domains of NAC family and has close relationship with ZmNAC5.Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (QPCR) assay revealed that TaNAC5 expression was induced after osmotic stress, low temperature, ethylene and H2O2 treatments, but inhibited after salt stress and ABA treatments. These results suggested that TaNAC5 participates in the response of abiotic stresses and related signaling molecules.
